"Storms In Life"

Each of us will experience heartache and hardship in our lives. None of us look forward to it but that's how God tests us and prepares us for the work and person He has planned for each one of us.

Last week, I lost my father, unexpectedly. I never anticipated God taking him now but it must have been his time and I have to believe and have faith that this was God's will.

My father was my cheerleader and role model in my life. He left his home, Lima, Peru, and came to America at 18 years old and did not speak English. He became a successful businessman, a devoted husband of 39 years, and a remarkable father. I am so proud of all that he accomplished.

I always talk about appreciating each day, embracing the moments, encouraging many of you to take a leap of faith and this is why. We don't know if we will ever get another chance to say the things we want to say or do the things we want to do.

Though the days and months ahead for me will be difficult, I know that I will get through it with God's grace. I must trust this is what was supposed to be, though it's not easy.

I hope that each of you that experience loss of any kind know that you are never alone. God is always in control and He will never leave you in times of pain. We never know exactly why things happen as they do but remember there is a bigger plan that we can't see enstore for each one of us.

Blessings,

Dr. Nina
